Things you might need:

• Cardigan, sweatshirt or other warmwear: average September temperatures in Newcastle range from 9° to 18° Celsius. By time-honoured tradition, the university never activates the central heating system before 20 September, regardless of weather conditions.
• Facemask, sanitizer et cetera.  We are in a transitional stage: the university's spaces are returning to pre-Covid layouts and occupancies.  We will maintain a measure of social distancing and will carry a supply of Covid-related hygiene products, but it will help us if delegates bring personal supplies.
• Apple USB connector, if you're presenting slides from a MacBook or other Apple device.
