Locations

Newcastle is easily accessible via road (A1, A69), rail (East Coast Main Line) and air.  Newcastle Airport is 20 minutes from the city centre via the Metro. The University is served by Haymarket Metro station, two stops north of Newcastle Central Station (mainline rail).

The conference takes place in the Armstrong Building, located on Queen Victoria Road: No. 22 on the campus map.

Car parking: there are no parking facilities on campus, and changes to road layouts during lockdown have diminished the quantity of on-street parking spaces near the Armstrong Building.  Nevertheless, there is a multi-storey car park on Queen Victoria Road, directly opposite the Armstrong Building, and an open car park on Claremont Road.

  • DO NOT attempt to extinguish a fire unless you are trained to do so.

On hearing the fire alarm leave the building IMMEDIATELY via the nearest exit, closing doors and windows where possible and proceed to the fire assembly point.

  • DO NOT use the lift
