Professor Dan Rogers

Dan Rogers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. Previously, he was a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer at Cardiff University, joining Oxford in January 2016. Dan received the MEng and PhD degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London in 2007 and 2011 respectively. His research work centres on the application of power electronics circuits and systems for the conversion of electrical power in industrial, automotive and grid applications. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, and contributed to whitepapers on energy storage and power electronics. He has been an investigator on several EPSRC and EU power electronics, power systems and energy storage projects. Dan is interested in the provision of electricity away from conventional grid infrastructure, based on experiences gained whilst working on electrification projects in rural Zambia and continued under the recently awarded EPSRC RELCON point-to-point microgrids project.
