Meet the Team

Orla McKernan

Orla is a second-year undergraduate psychology student with a strong interest in sport psychology and athlete performance. She is actively involved in sport, playing Gaelic football and netball, and is the founder and president of Newcastle University’s Gaelic football club. Alongside this, she coaches and supports player development, which has strengthened her passion for teamwork, leadership, and the psychological aspects of performance.

As Co-Chair of PIICP 2026, Orla plays a key role in supporting the organisation and delivery of the conference. She primarily oversees the conference’s social media presence, helping to promote the event and engage a wider audience, while also contributing to the planning and coordination of the event. Through her role, she aims to help create an engaging and accessible conference experience for all attendees.
