About the Showcase

Date: 28th May 2026
Venue: Online (Microsoft Teams)
Time: 09:00 – 16:00

Overview

Newcastle University is proud to host the Sport Psychology Showcase, an annual online event designed to bridge the gap between psychological theory and applied coaching practice.

This free conference brings together leading voices from sport psychology research, applied practice, coaching, athletic performance, and postgraduate study. Across the day, contributors will share insights that translate directly into real-world coaching and performance environments, with a strong focus on practical application and contemporary challenges in sport.

Rather than treating theory and practice as separate domains, the showcase is designed to integrate both perspectives, highlighting how psychological understanding can meaningfully shape behaviour, communication, and performance outcomes in sport.

Quality & Recognition

Following its official endorsement by the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES), the Sport Psychology Showcase continues to be recognised for its academic quality, applied relevance, and contribution to professional practice in sport and exercise science.

This endorsement reflects the event’s commitment to evidence-based content, real-world applicability, and high standards of knowledge exchange between researchers and practitioners.
