This short conference will bring together international experts to discuss recent developments in the field of Geophysical and Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics (GAFD). It will also celebrate the 80th birthday of Professor Andrew Soward FRS, who has made many significant contributions to this field. 

The meeting will be held at Newcastle University from Thursday 11th January to Friday 12th January 2024 in the Herschel Building, which is the home of the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at Newcastle. We plan to host a welcome reception on the evening of Wednesday 10th January.
