The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at Newcastle University is pleased to announce the second international inter-disciplinary conference on “Transformation of the built environment in developing societies”. The aim of the conference is to instigate discussion regarding vital research issues of transformation and transition in the planning, design and management of the built environment, especially in developing societies. These discussions will be tailored toward conservation, optimization, evaluation and management of buildings and their surrounding environments. Moreover, the conference seeks to explore the above themes at different research scales including regional, urban, building and human scales.  Early career academics, researchers, PhD students and practitioners are kindly invited to present innovative research regarding fundamentals, policies, design, implementation and operation of a sustainable environment.
