Call for Papers

The theme of the conference is the teaching of the Portuguese language from a pluricentric perspective, focusing on pedagogical eclecticism and adaptability essential in teaching-learning contexts of Portuguese, both in the UK and in other countries. Despite Portuguese being a mother tongue and/or official language in countries across several continents, its teaching does not always manage to reflect this linguistic and cultural diversity equitably. We are seeking answers to this challenge. Therefore, we invite you to submit proposals for participation related to teaching methodologies, techniques, and practices that address this reality.

We therefore invite the submission of proposals for participation related to teaching methodologies, techniques and practices that stem from this reality, considering in general, but not exclusively, the following topics:

  1. Eclectic approaches
  2. Approaches arising from specific methodologies (e.g. CLIL, task-based teaching, project work, etc.)
  3. Teaching language and culture(s)
  4. Teaching language through literature
  5. Teaching strategies related to specific skills
  6. Teaching resources and materials
  7. Integrating different varieties of Portuguese into teaching
  8. Linguistic diversity and linguistic prejudice

‎ There are 3 types of particpation:

  1. Communication
  2. Panel
  3. Workshop
