• Maryam is a Research Fellow in the School of Computing, Newcastle University. She has studied Computer Engineering and Computer Sciences in FUM, Iran and Newcastle University.

Dr. Maryam Mehrnezhad is a Research Fellow at the School of Computing, Newcastle University. Her research interests include Mobile Security, Sensor Security, Usable Security and Privacy, Security Standardisation, and Cyber Security Education. She has conducted a few research projects in the past, where her work has made media and industrial impact, resulting in multiple published papers. 

Maryam was born in 1986 in Iran. She finished high school studying Maths and Physics in Farzanehgan High school, the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents. Her first and second degrees are in Computer Engineering, from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. She moved to the UK in 2013 and finished her PhD on the Security of Mobile Sensors in Newcastle University in 2017. She briefly worked in industry before starting her job at Newcastle University. Maryam has a baby girl, Maya, who was born in Feb 2018.
