Ecological Genetics Group

The Ecological Genetics Group is a special interest group of the British Ecological Society and the Genetics Society

It has met annually for the past 57 years, providing a forum for all scientists working in population genetics and evolutionary ecology to present and discuss their work. The meeting is well known for its excellent and friendly atmosphere.

The 58th version of the meeting was organised by Kirsten Wolff and her research group in the School of Biology at Newcastle University from 14 – 16 April 2014.‌

The conference in the Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle was a great success with talks, posters, pub quiz, ceilidh and field trip to Hauxley reserve. The keynote speaker was Per Ingvarsson from Umea (Sweden).

The 2015 meeting will be at Edge Hill, and will be organised by Paul Ashton, the secretary of the special interest group.

Images of the conference and field trip can be found at the social programme page.
