Dr David Musyimi Ndetei is full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, a position held since 1995, and the Founding Director of Africa Mental Health Research and Training Foundation (AMHRTF), a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to research for evidence-based policy, practice and promotion of mental and neurological health, and healthy behaviour. He is the current lead PI at the Kenya site of the recently NIH funded READD-ADSP project. He has also been the PI or Co-I for most Kenyan published clinical and community epidemiological studies on mental health and substance abuse which are the basis for practice in Kenya. Through these studies, he has worked with organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and had opportunities for collaboration with various individuals and institutions around the world and across disciplines.
