With support from the Newcastle University’s International Office through an International Partnership Seed Fund to foster nascent research between Newcastle University and the University of Pittsburgh, the fourth Bamboo in the Urban Environment event will be held online in September and October 2021.

The objective of the 4th Bamboo in the Urban Environment symposium will be to examine the trends in bamboo construction and identify, not only gaps and obstacles in existing practice, but solicit expert guidance on how research and development on these could best be prioritised to better serve the bamboo construction community.‌
