There is plentiful accommodation and dining options for every budget within Newcastle, and the tour will begin and end each day at the Newcastle University campus.

Accommodation

Accommodation during your participation in the Hadrian's Wall Study Tour can be arranged with the Newcastle Gateshead Initiative.

This service is free, and use of this service will also provide a range of offerings to best suit your needs.

Travel During the Tour

A coach will provide travel from Newcastle University campus to all the sites we visit each day, returning to Newcastle University campus at the end of the day.

While visiting each site, we will be walking among the consolidated remains of ancient buildings, and sometimes along unpaved paths. Sites can also be located in land used as pasture for sheep or cattle. Please remember that appropriate footwear should be worn. In addition, some sites are located within a very dramatic landscape, which will entail walking up and down hills.

Typically, May is a warm and sunny month in the North of England, though it has also been known to rain. While we cannot guarantee the weather, we can guarantee that you will visit the sites - but you might not stay dry!
