Sands of Time

Irene Brown

The large scale digital collage is assembled from over one hundred separate photographs of the coast line between Tynemouth and Cullercoats Bay, Tyne and Wear. The lenticular creates the illusion of waves moving onto the shore and deep rock pools under foot as the viewer moves around and across the work which is placed on the floor. This piece is part of a series of works that explore the use of allegorical imagery to represent the relentless passage of time and the eternal power of natural forces.
