Victoria Gardner gained her doctorate in History from the University of Oxford in 2008. She initially entered into academia, lecturing in History at, among several other universities, Manchester and Edinburgh before she left the profession in 2014. She has worked in the independent secondary sector for the past three years at Wellington College, Berkshire, as a History teacher and Head of Scholars, Scholarship and Academic Extension.
