RailNewcastle summer school was an intensive programme in Rail & Logistics which took place at Newcastle University.
The programme put an emphasis on the growing interest in rail freight and passenger services and international aspect of logistics, which promotes safer and more secure rail transport systems, more mature and environmentally friendly distribution of freight, more efficient railway operations.
The 1st edition of RailNewcastle summer school was delivered in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2012. Over 150 students and 20 professors were involved in previous editions of RailNewcastle enjoying teaching and learning activities as well as multicultural environment. The programme promoted innovation in railway education and training and provided the necessary skills for prospective careers in the railway sector.
In total three editions of RailNewcastle were delivered between 2012 and 2014. Then RailNewcastle evolved into a conference in 2015 and Talks in 2016.
