About our Project
The Newton-Q Workshop is an interdisciplinary initiative led by the School of Computing and the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at Newcastle University. It is designed to build bridges between disciplines, spark new collaborations and showcase both cutting-edge research and real-world applications in the quantum and post-quantum domains.
The workshop brings together researchers, engineers, cybersecurity experts and students to discuss current developments in:
- Quantum communication and quantum key distribution
- Quantum computing and algorithm design
- Post-quantum cryptography
- Network security in a quantum-enabled world
- Industry innovation and emerging technologies
The event fosters active engagement between academia and industry, with a strong emphasis on building connections that lead to future research projects, commercial partnerships, internships and job opportunities for students.
The Newton-Q Workshop is free to attend and open to all, with particular encouragement for early career researchers and students from across the University and beyond. We aim to make quantum science accessible, inclusive and inspiring - a platform where ideas and people connect.
