13:00-14:00 How to write a winning fellowship proposal. Tips and suggestions for proposal writing. Speaker: Dr Jarlath McKenna.

An interactive session during which the participants will be split into 2 groups and rotate between tables that will be dedicated to discussing 2 different topics. Each discussion will be led by an expert on the topic.

  1. Non-academic career paths: What are the options outside academia? Lead by Karen Parkhouse.
  2. Equality-Diversity-Inclusion (EDI): how various forms of discrimination may manifest themselves in the process of applying for academic jobs, both from the candidate’s perspective and also from the committee side, quotas, and EDI policies in the academic sector. Lead by Helen Moran.

 

The session will conclude with the 2 experts giving a brief summary of the main ideas discussed during the session. 

 

 *CV sharing session: Attendees are kindly requested to bring along a hard copy of their CV and any other relevant documents such as personal statement and research statement.
