BCUR 25 @ Ncl

The British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) is the largest conference in the UK exclusively dedicated to showcasing undergraduate research. It offers students a unique platform to present their work, whether it's a dissertation, a research project, an internship, or even an insightful end-of-term essay.

BCUR embraces all disciplines, creating a diverse and interdisciplinary environment where students can share their research with peers from universities across the UK. The event not only fosters academic growth but also provides an enjoyable and enriching experience for participants.

BCUR at Newcastle University has been a significant part of this journey since 2015. Newcastle provides sponsorship for its students to present their best research projects at the conference, covering the costs of attendance, travel, and accommodation. This ensures that students have the opportunity to share their work on a national stage without financial barriers. In addition, Newcastle University students participate in prestigious events like Posters in Parliament, where selected students present their research to members of Parliament and the House of Lords. More information about these opportunities can be found on the university’s BCUR and Posters in Parliament pages.

BCUR 2025 will mark an important milestone as Newcastle University takes on the role of hosting the conference. Following the University of Warwick's distinction of being the first UK institution to host BCUR twice, Newcastle will continue the tradition of celebrating undergraduate research. This is a great opportunity for Newcastle to highlight its dedication to fostering student research and academic excellence on a national scale.
