IMPORTANT - please note that the conference is being held in Percy Building. There will be signs around campus for Postgraduate Linguistics Conference.

3 Student Bursaries now available  [June 11 2007]

Thanks to our successful funding application to AHRC we now can offer three bursaries of up to £50 each. In order to apply for one of these bursaries you need to be presenting either a paper or a poster at the conference and be a student at a UK university. Please email us the following details to pgconfling@ncl.ac.uk before Friday 15th June 2007:

    1. Your full name, affiliation and email address.
    2. An estimate of the cost of your expenses to attend the conference, e.g. travel, accommodation etc.
    3. If you have any other funding to cover these expenses, e.g. from your university.
    4. A brief statement about why you should receive funding.

A list of local B&Bs and hotels in the area is now available. You can also book Newcastle University accommodation at a cost of £25 pppn but we are awaiting confirmation of the booking process. We will update asap.

Prof Sorace's talk will be on "Convergences between L2 acquisition and L1 attrition at the syntax-discourse interface". The abstract can be found in the Guest Speaker section.

Notification of abstract results  [April 30 2007]

All the abstracts have now been reviewed and the results notified. Those who have been accepted for a paper or poster, please confirm by Friday 4th May.

Submission of Abstracts - Closed  [March 29 2007]

The deadline for submission of abstracts has now closed. We have received a lot of abstracts and are in the process of reviewing them. We will contact everyone who submitted towards the end of April and provide some feedback where possible.

If you submitted an abstract and your email address changes, please inform the committee as soon as possible. Due to the high number of abstracts we will not be able to spend a lot of time trying to find you!

Second Call For Papers  [March 16 2007]

The second call for papers for the conference is now available. Please see the call for papers section for further details and a downloadable version. Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is Friday 23rd March 2007.

We are very pleased to announce that we have received £300 of funding from the Linguistics Association of Great Britain towards the costs of the conference. Further details about the LAGB can be found via its website www.lagb.org.uk.
