Speaker Profile: Ruth Houghton

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant and PhD Candidate, Durham Law School.

Ruth joined Durham Law School in September 2013 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Ph.D. candidate. Her doctoral research is concerned with the debates on the norm of democratic governance in international law and global constitutionalism scholarship. Ruth has a degree in English and History from the University of York, where she specialised in Early Modern history and literature. Her final paper was an exploration of the use of bookmarks in Shakespeare’s ‘Cymbeline’.
