  Venue

  Newcastle upon Tyne is one of the UK's most dynamic and pleasant cities. Situated in the beautiful countryside of Northumberland, Newcastle has a population of approximately 500,000 people and is the regional capital of the North-East of England. The maps of Newcastle city center.

  The City is linked to all major European air-hubs by frequent flights from Newcastle International Airport (15 mins from City Centre by Metro).

  The Conference will be held in the Sage Gateshead located on Gateshead Quays between the Tyne and Gateshead Millennium Bridges (getting there). The nearest Metro station to the Sage is "Gateshead" (The walk takes about ten minutes).

 Conference Language

The official conference language is English. Please be aware that outside the conference venue you will often meet local people speaking on Geordie. This famous dialect is one of the most distinctive and best known features of the North East (Original English to Geordie online translator).


 UK electrical plugClimate

September is usually a sunny month with an average temperature of 19°C (66F). Since rain showers are possible, light clothing and a raincoat are recommended.


 Electricity

Electricity is supplied at 220 Volts, 50 cycles AC. Rectangular-pin plugs only can be used in mains sockets. Please use an adapter plug and a voltage converter if you need 110/120 volt appliances.
