RegistrationPlease note that although the conference is organised by the University of Newcastle upon Tyne its academic programme is being held in the Lipman Building of Northumbria University. The two universities are adjacent in central Newcastle. Conference eventsDelegates are warmly invited to participate in the following optional Conference events: A guided Walking Tour of central Newcastle, with particular reference to the city in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, on either Friday or Saturday afternoon. Cost: £3. (Note: numbers will be limited on these walks.) An excursion to Wallington Hall on Saturday afternoon. Cost of coach: £5. In addition when you get to Wallington Hall, you will be asked to pay either £7 for entry to the house, garden and grounds or £5 for entry to the garden and grounds only. (Note: entry to Wallington is free to National Trust members.) The Conference Dinner on Saturday evening in the Newcastle Assembly Rooms, followed by a concert of traditional and original Northumbrian music by the Kathryn Tickell Band. Cost: £30.
